Dancing with Georgia

Dance

This docu-soap tells the story of Katarzyna Pakosińska’s journey to Georgia, a country and people that she’s been in love with since the late 80s. This small country on the crossroads of Europe and Asia has changed since the Soviet period and still attracts guests with the beauty of its nature and the traditional hospitality of Georgian people.

Kasia tells us an insider story which brings us off the beaten track, crossing the passes with Tushetian shepherds on the way to summer pasture, learning the fadoesque songs of Tushetian women or Adjarian dances with the world famous Georgian National Ballet. The series takes place in picturesque and mysterious Svaneti - the highest inhabited area in Europe, tells us the story of Kakheti region, which is considered to be the Cradle of Wine. Kasia introduces interesting people from Tbilisi, the multicultural capital with its famous sulphur baths and incredible mixture of oriental and occidental lifestyle.

The presenter is an active protagonist and not just an observer; she learns to cook Khinkali (Georgian version of Ravioli), rides horses and learns how Teka (tushetian carpets) is made.

This series (6X24min episodes) are accompanied with original music of Georgian contemporary artists and is produced in cinéma vérité style.

The project is also presented in the net, with a behind the scene and info blog (http://projektgruzja.blogspot.com/)
